FRDC Groups
1. Social Therapy Group(s):
a. Ages 5-8: this group will meet every other week and focus on the a variety ofdevelopmental issues that can often affect children and their ability tosocialize appropriately. Thisgroup will be facilitated by Daniel Weiner, MA LPC.
b. Ages-9-11:(limited space available): thisgroup will meet every other week and will focus on the impact that impulsivity,emotion regulation, bullying, etc. have on appropriate social development. Thisgroup will be facilitated by Daniel Weiner, MA LPC
c. Ages 12-14: this group will meet every other week and will focus on the difficultyof middle school years and how various social issues impact young adolescents.This group will be facilitated by Daniel Weiner, MA LPC
2. Sibling Support Group: This group will be provided to children who have a brother orsister struggling with mental health/behavioral issues. It will offer them anoutlet to discuss their struggles related to the family dynamics related to their siblings’ issues. This group will be facilitated by Marc Lehman, LMFT.
4. Adolescent Therapy Group(s):
a. Ages 15-18: this group will work with specific adolescents struggling withemotional/behavioral issues and will assist them with coping skill development,emotion/cognition exploration and management, as well as clarification regarding their specific mental health issues. This group will be facilitatedby Geoff Genser, LCSW.
b. Substance Abuse Treatment Group: this group meets weekly with teenagers who are interested in changing their substance use patterns. They will receive accurate information about the impact of their drug use on their minds and bodies and will have a supportive environment for talking about ways to realize change. This group is facilitated by Geoff Genser, LCSW and Marc Lehman, LMFT.
